There are many ways of displaying information, as the info aesthetics blog shows, some are just lovely. Well, in that spirit, I decided to update my résumé with a different perspective on the typical time-line theme. This is just concept art, as there are almost no real metrics represented except for time.

This résumé just floored me. Sure it needs to be thought out a touch more, but this is what they mean when people talk about ‘thinking outside the box’. It would certainly catch my attention, and if I were hiring designers instead of developers, I would have already been impressed.

The “Buy American” provision bars spending on any infrastructure project “unless all of the iron and steel used in the project is produced in the United States.

It is my opinion that this will be used as both a stick and a carrot to force Canada to bow to pressure from the USA., most likely where foreign and economic policy of the two countries are different, or where a possible North American Union is concerned. Canada currently sells 40% of the steel it produces in the United States via the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Reminds me of the softwood lumber crisis a few years back. Has Canada been paid the fines levied against the USA by the WTO yet?

It just occurred to me that this website is now officially more than four years old. My inaugural post was made on January 20, 2005.
God, it’s been a long row to hoe, hasn’t it? And there’s a lot more to go, or come, or something. Thanks for reading!
