Black ribbon Thursday October 11, 2007, 0 comments
The black ribbon couldn’t quite tame the flyaway wisps of the girl’s blonde hair as she sat on the cobblestones, immobile and weeping. Stabbing knives of sunlight and dark phantom shadows from wispy clouds above took turns racing across the square.
Though she wished for it with every part of her being, time, cloaked and forbidding, refused to stand still.

No more rules Tuesday October 9, 2007, 8 comments
There was a time when the 9rules leaf was considered a badge of merit – a symbol of quality – and I was quite proud to have it on my site.
But the focus of the 9rules site has changed considerably from those beginnings, and a new user agreement has made me question the value of continued involvement with the network.
This site is no longer a member of 9rules.
A Rain of Frogs will continue as it always has, so please keep on reading. The energy that the 9rules network would like its members to expend on the community will be directed to making this a better place to read.
To all my 9rules readers, and the 9rules leaders I wish the best of luck.
To those who continue to read, thank you. You are the lifeblood of A Rain of Frogs.

Two thirds Tuesday October 9, 2007, 0 comments
I just found out that more than two thirds of all Porsches ever built are still on the road.
Holy crap, (lions!) thats a lot. I can’t imagine many other car companies out there being able to make a similar claim.
It is certainly a testament to the quality and durability of the cars Porsche builds, and a testament to the desirability of those cars.
When one thinks of environmentalism, one thinks of efficiency. Certainly a fuel-guzzling sports car doesn’t come to mind. Not even counting the company’s very aggressive recycling programs, Porsche is demonstrating a level of environmentalism that few (if any) automotive companies can match.
